Whilst building Imperial Buildings in Church Street/Hanover St 1909, there were stands to be created in preparation  for a Royal parade, although only the first floor was built of what would become Boots the Chemist and later a bank.

Charles believed in the future and lived to see a new company office and workshop building created in 1927 in spite of the slump. Jobs for 20 joiners and 15 machinists plus stone-working, plumbers, electricians and painters

Other jobs include the old Womens Hospital and Maternity Hospital Liverpool.
