I am not yet able to provide proof of this being John's, but it is certainly a possible. He was at the laying of the foundation stone with Samuel Holmes and John Holmes (the Bricklaying contractors) , with whom he was currently building St George's Hall. It is unlikely they were both on the Committee- at least without ensuring they benefitted in some way!
